We went in cars to the gym and we got to do lots of fun stuff. We learnt how to do a motorbike jump. We learnt some other stuff like balancing and trying to do a flip. It was hard. The gym lady was nice her name was Michelle. From Storm and Chloe.
we had to put lots of newspaper around when we made our paper mache bowls. YAY we've finished them! We had to paint and decorate them. Can you find my one? From Dharmik
On Tuesday it was world peace day. Room 9 and 10 decided to celebrate the day by planting a white magnolia by the junior playground. This was to remind us to be peaceful when we play. We also had a minute silence and voted for the most peaceful people in our class. These peaceful people worked with Mrs Meade to make a handprint using plaster of paris. The others worked with Miss K and made doves with lots of words about peace on them. It was a very fun and peaceful day!
Check out our koru now! It's taken us a lot of practice to get our koru patterns looking right but we have done it! I am so proud of you superstar kiwis for persisting at your Maori art, it looks awesome. Im really looking forward to putting them up around the room. Miss K :)
We have been learning all about our brains this term. We are learning how they work, the different parts and how to look after our brains because they are very special! Here is a funny clip with all the parts of the brain.

Room's 9 and 10 are heading to Wellington to go to the zoo in term 4! This is very exciting for us and we are needing to fundraise some more money towards our trip. We have been selling homemade vege soup and toast every Friday for $1, what a cheap and healthy lunch! Thank you very much to Laugesens for donating the veges, to Countdown for donating bread and Hawthorne Cafe in Havelock North for the coffee cups! Remember the soup and toast is every Friday so help us out and buy some of our yummy homemade soup :)
Yay Jaida has also written a story with all her sentences right! Jaida's story is about Officer Tanya coming to teach us about road safety. Good on you Jaida, keep up the great work!
Our inquiry topic over the next few weeks is called stepping out. It is all about being safe on the road and knowing what do do to keep safe. Officer Tanya came to talk to us about keeping safe when crossing our busy road outside our school. We got to hear the police car sirens, hear officer Tanya talk in her loudspeaker and even hop into the police car!
We have a new member in our class this term. His name is Logan and we are really happy to have him in Room 9! If you see Logan make sure you take the time to say hello and make him feel welcome at Carlton School :)
Check out this wonderful chinese dragon that Rose made at home and brought to share with the class! We have been learning about chinese new year and loved seeing a paper mache dragon that looked like the ones we have been looking at on youtube. Well done Rose, you've done a great job!
We have been observing and drawing containers this term and decided it would be fun to make our own containers out of paper mache. These are photos of our first step which is using newspaper and paper mache paste to make lots and lots of layers so our container will be nice and strong.
Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9-9.30 the whole junior school go to the hall for fitness. In fitness, we are learning to listen and watch the teacher carefully so we can follow the moves and keep the rhythm.
Every Monday afternoon at 2.15 we are very lucky because we get to go on the library bus and choose a book that we would like for the week. We love going on the library bus because there is a nice comfy seat at the back that we can sit on and lots of bright and colourful books to choose from. Here are some photos of us on the library bus.
